Getting Started

Clean The Everything Beginner Guide

Learn how to collect scattered objects, find their correct locations, and complete your first cleanup run.

The goal is to restore each map by picking up loose objects and placing them in the correct order or category. Clean The Everything currently includes the Library, where books are sorted by genre, and the Fish Market, where fish are sorted by size.

1

Choose a Map

Start in the Library to sort books by genre or enter the Fish Market to arrange fish by size. Each map has its own objects and sorting rules.

2

Learn the Basic Controls

On PC, press E or click to pick up and place items, Q to throw, scroll to cycle carried items, right-click to zoom, and H to request a hint. On controller, use RT to pick up or place, B to throw, LT to cycle, RB to zoom, and the D-Pad for abilities.

3

Collect Nearby Objects

Clear one section at a time instead of running across the entire map. Pick up nearby objects and cycle through your carried items before returning to the correct shelves.

4

Match the Sorting Rule

Place Library books with the correct genre and arrange Fish Market items by size. Check the surrounding shelf contents before placing an object to avoid creating an incorrect sequence.

5

Use Hints and Abilities

Press H when you cannot find the next object or its destination. Reveal, Magnet, Reorder, and Scan can help locate objects, collect nearby items, and fix sorting problems.

6

Upgrade Your Movement

Prioritize Speed for faster routes and Carry for fewer return trips. Add Jump after the two upgrades that directly improve collecting and delivery.

7

Resume or Race

Your floor items, shelves, elapsed time, and full run progress are saved. Continue unfinished maps later or replay them to compete for a faster leaderboard time.

8

Clean With Friends

Multiplayer teams can divide the map into sections and carry more objects collectively. Assign each player a shelf area to reduce duplicate searching.

Quick Tips

  • Clear one shelf section at a time instead of crossing the whole map.
  • Cycle through carried items so you deliver the right object to the right shelf.
  • Spend early upgrade points on Speed and Carry before Jump.
  • Save Reveal and Scan for the final objects you cannot locate.
Upgrade Rankings

Clean The Everything Upgrades Tier List

Compare Speed, Carry, and Jump to choose the upgrades that save the most time during cleanup runs.

Speed provides the strongest universal benefit because every run requires repeated movement between scattered objects and shelves. Carry is especially valuable for solo players, while Jump is a useful mobility upgrade after the main collection upgrades are established.

Tier

S

Speed

All players and leaderboard runs

Solo

Excellent

Multiplayer

Excellent

Reduces time spent moving between objects and shelves. It improves every stage of a run and should normally receive the first upgrade points.

Tier

A

Carry

Solo runs and large object batches

Solo

Excellent

Multiplayer

Good

Allows more objects to be handled before returning to the shelves. Its value is highest when playing alone, while multiplayer teams already gain extra total carrying capacity from additional players.

Tier

B

Jump

General mobility and route flexibility

Solo

Situational

Multiplayer

Situational

Improves movement around the map but has less direct impact on collecting and placing objects. Upgrade it after Speed and Carry unless a route benefits heavily from additional jump height.

Ability Comparison

Clean The Everything Abilities Guide

Compare Reveal, Magnet, Reorder, and Scan and learn when each cleanup ability provides the most value.

Abilities reduce the time spent searching, collecting, and correcting shelves. Use information abilities when progress stalls, Magnet while clearing object-heavy areas, and Reorder when misplaced items have disrupted a shelf.

Reveal

High Priority

Function

Highlights objects that still need to be found or sorted.

Best Use

Searching large rooms and locating the last remaining objects

Save Reveal for sections where normal searching and the hint control are no longer finding useful targets.

Magnet

High Priority

Function

Pulls nearby loose objects toward the player for faster collection.

Best Use

Dense areas containing several scattered objects

Activate Magnet near object clusters before starting a return trip to the shelves.

Reorder

Medium Priority

Function

Helps correct objects that have been placed in the wrong shelf order.

Best Use

Repairing mixed shelves and correcting sorting mistakes

Use Reorder after checking a completed-looking shelf that is not registering as correctly sorted.

Scan

High Priority

Function

Checks objects or the surrounding area to help identify the correct sorting destination.

Best Use

Working out where an unfamiliar object belongs

Use Scan before carrying an unclear object across the map so you can choose the correct destination immediately.

Library Map

Clean The Everything Library Guide

Organize scattered books by genre, clear each shelf section, and use upgrades or abilities to shorten the run.

The Library is one of the two main maps in Clean The Everything. Books must be returned to their correct genre sections, while careful routing and organized carrying help prevent repeated trips across the building.

Check the Shelf Labels

Walk through the nearby shelves before collecting books and note the genre labels used in that section. This makes it easier to group books heading toward the same part of the Library.

Sort by Genre

Match every book with the shelf section for its genre instead of placing books on the nearest open shelf. Correct sorting steadily fills the Library and moves the run toward completion.

Clear One Section at a Time

Finish nearby shelves before moving to a distant floor or aisle. A section-based route reduces backtracking and makes remaining misplaced books easier to identify.

Use the Hint

Press H on PC when you cannot identify where an item belongs. Use hints for difficult books rather than repeatedly carrying them between unrelated shelf sections.

Improve Carry Capacity

The Carry upgrade lets you transport more items during each trip. Combine it with Speed and Jump upgrades to move efficiently between floors, shelves, and scattered book piles.

Use Sorting Abilities

Reveal, Magnet, Reorder, and Scan provide additional ways to find, collect, or organize items. Save these abilities for crowded areas or the final stage of a run when missing books are harder to locate.

Split the Map in Multiplayer

Assign each player a floor, aisle, or genre section. Players can carry more together, allowing the team to clear distant book piles without duplicating work.

Prepare for the Final Sweep

After the main shelves are filled, inspect corners, tables, stairs, and previously cleared sections. Use hints and scanning abilities to locate the last misplaced books before finishing the leaderboard run.

Fish Market Map

Clean The Everything Fish Market Guide

Sort fish by size, return misplaced market items, and follow a simple route that limits unnecessary travel.

The Fish Market replaces genre-based book sorting with size-based fish organization. The most efficient approach is to identify the market layout first, group similar items, and complete one display area before moving to the next.

1

Learn the Market Layout

Walk through the market before carrying large groups of items. Locate the fish displays and note where the main item categories belong.

2

Separate Fish from Other Items

Create two working groups: fish that must be sorted by size and other market objects that must be returned to their matching locations.

3

Compare Fish Sizes

Use the visible size of each fish to choose the correct display. Keep similar-sized fish together so they can be delivered in batches.

4

Complete One Display at a Time

Finish a nearby fish display or market section before crossing the map. This reduces repeated trips and makes incorrectly placed items easier to notice.

5

Upgrade Carry Capacity

Invest in the Carry upgrade to move more fish and market items per trip. Speed and Jump upgrades further reduce travel time between crowded sections.

6

Use Hints for Difficult Items

Press H on PC when an object's destination is unclear. Use the hint before moving the item across the market to avoid losing time on incorrect placements.

7

Coordinate Multiplayer Routes

Divide the market into separate zones or assign one player to fish and another to other objects. Team carrying is especially useful for clearing large piles quickly.

8

Scan for Remaining Objects

Check floors, stalls, corners, and completed displays during the final sweep. Reveal, Magnet, Reorder, and Scan can help finish the last part of the map.
